Board Activities
- Formally reviews the performance of the chief executive officer at least once every two years.
- Formally approves the budget.
- Receives information about the financial arrangements with such firms and, if applicable, the anticipated portion of the gross proceeds that goes to the organization.
- Has formally approved a conflict of interest policy and regularly monitors it to ensure adherence.
- Receives, at least quarterly, the organization's financial statement.
- Receives, at least annually, an auditor's management letter and report.

Outcome 1
Mnetor, educate and help support at-risk pregnant women throughout their pregnancy and the child's first year of life
Measure
No infant deaths and healthy babies born over 5.5 pounds. No maternal deaths. Stable and healthy environment.

Average birth weight of infants born to clients to be over 6 pounds

95 percent of PIP clients' infants will be up-to-date

Discuss and assist client in obtaining a peditrician and family doctor, monitor and record the child development and interaction, provide client wiht information on free immunizations

Infant mortality will be less than Detroit's infant mortality for the clients served in the program
Measure
Match and train mentors to be matched with the pregnant women. In-hoome visits that discuss and encourage safe-sleep issues, prenational and post natal visits, breastfeeding, child development and healthy and positive parenting lifestyles.
Change Process: (self-reported)
The PIP clients are healthier and have healthier babies. They participate in prenatal and postnatal dcotor visits. The children visit a pediatrician or family doctor to receive up-to-date immunizations.
Parents have stated they feel more positive in their parenting skills, over half go back to receive to complete their high school diploma or GED, participate actively in their community, become volunteers in the PIP program, and learn to access and use resources in the community, city, and state.
