Board Activities

  • Formally reviews the performance of the chief executive officer at least once every two years.
  • Formally approves the budget.
  • Ensures that arrangements with outside fund raising firms are made in writing.
  • Receives information about the financial arrangements with such firms and, if applicable, the anticipated portion of the gross proceeds that goes to the organization.
  • Has formally approved a conflict of interest policy and regularly monitors it to ensure adherence.
  • Receives, at least quarterly, the organization's financial statement.
  • Receives, at least annually, an auditor's management letter and report.

Outcome 1
Recipients receive free more nutritious non-shelf stable food.

Measure
Increase in poundage of non-shelf stable food each year. Our goal in 2008 is 890,000 pounds of non-shelf stable food and over 1,000,000 pounds of shelf stable food.


Outcome 2
The Hunger Strike Force will serve hunger-fighting agencies by providing them with free shelf stable and non-shelf stable food.

Measure
Records are kept as to the names and numbers of hunger-fighting agencies that we serve. Our goal is to serve a minimum of 50 agencies each year.


Outcome 3
Participants are led to Jesus Christ through compassionate service and the provision of basic needs.

Measure
Monthly testimony sheets are collected from each agency partner.
