Board Activities

  • Formally reviews the performance of the chief executive officer at least once every two years.
  • Formally approves the budget.
  • Ensures that arrangements with outside fund raising firms are made in writing.
  • Receives information about the financial arrangements with such firms and, if applicable, the anticipated portion of the gross proceeds that goes to the organization.
  • Has formally approved a conflict of interest policy and regularly monitors it to ensure adherence.
  • Receives, at least quarterly, the organization's financial statement.
  • Receives, at least annually, an auditor's management letter and report.

Outcome 1
Participant no longer feels she carries a dark dirty secret and there is no sin that God can not forgive.

Measure
A pre and post test is used to determine if she is able to share openly about her abortion and the guilt and self loathing she feels has deminished.

Outcome 2
Understands Christ's forgiveness and realizes that the only way she can believe it is by studying His Word and participating in the Scriptually based Bible study that is used.

Measure
A pre and post test measures the changes but the member's change is also seen in her behavior, paticipation, committment to the group, and finishing her homework assignments

Outcome 3
Changes in risky and self destructive behavior

Measure
Pre and post tests used to measure the changes. Self reporting of changes in promiscuity, depression, marital problems, alchohol or substance abuse, and seeking professional help if needed

Outcome 4
Is able to development of close relationships with the group members and the leaders.

Measure
Members request that the program continue more than 14 weeks. Members contact other members outside of group seting.

Outcome 5
Making healthy decisions about relationships and friends.

Measure
Pre and post tests regarding co-habitation, sexual activy, abusive relationships, etc.

Change Process: (self-reported)

Partipants change mainly in three areas.

1. There feel safe and accepted so they are finally able to talk about their abortion. The other women in the group undestand and are going through the same pain. This begins the process of seeing that they do not have to carry the burdon themselves.

2. The woman gradually see that many of the emotional and physical problems they experience are directly related to the abortion. As the healing process begins, many times these symptoms begin to decrease or many times disappear.

3. The most inportant change is the growth in their faith and beginning a close personal relationship with Christ. They begin to understand that just by confessing their sin to Christ and asking for forgiveness, it is given freely. This is very difficult for many of the women to believe they are worthy of forgiveness.
