Change Process: (self-reported)
In a safe, therapeutic, restorative environment, indigent women have the opportunity to work toward wholeness and self-sufficiency. Once her crisis is stabilized, each woman assesses her needs with her casemanager and has the opportunity to give or recommit her life to Christ. Each woman's individualized program plan is designed to help address her life-controlling issues, and help her understand and attain the tools she needs to achieve the goal of successful independent living. Within each program, (Emergency Shelter Program, Long-Term Residential Program or Internship), women are encouraged, counseled, and directed to discover the God-given plan for their lives. To improve employability when work is the greatest need, women are helped to attain their GED, gain computer training, and receive employment training and work history through service at CWRM's Thrift Store. Vocational Rehabilitation and Job Service help guests prepare for and secure employment. Women who are able to stay long-term participate in intensive counseling (including meetings with a licensed addiction therapist as needed), purposeful Bible-based classes (including over-comers and anger management), personal devotional time, and involvement within a local church community. All programming contributes to helping guests experience change from the inside out through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Through their healthy identity in Christ, women have strength and wisdom to fulfill their God-given destiny.
