Outcome 2
Identify strengths of the individual and establish goals
Measure
Daily notes and 90-day review by the Resident/Staff Development Director will assist in the development of a person-centered plan that will be compiled by the resident and RSDD.
Outcome 3
Secure employment in an opportunity center, enclave, campus enterprise, competitive employment or a volunteer position
Measure
Has the resident successfully completed on-campus skills training; completed the job application and interviewing process in at least six companies and has the resident achieved a healthy respect for the value of being on time, honesty, proper attire, and work ethic? These questions are asked and should be answered positively within 90-360 days of becoming a resident.
Change Process: (self-reported)
In the almost four years since Bishop Grady Villas has been open, residents have come to us from various regions of the country. They and their families are seeking a better quality of life where they find companionship with others like them; physical, emotional, and spiritual growth; and opportunities for them to develop a sense of worth and self-esteem. We have three mini enterprises on campus. They are our greenhouse/garden, Angel Bakery, and woodshop. Our residents improve dexterity, social skills, and ability to start and finish projects as well as create a money generating business for them to operate. We encourage and assist our individuals to become active in the community through joining clubs, taking piano lessons, going to the health club, volunteering and working. As our special people grow, their confidence soars. They become willing to try new things, show more compassion for others, and are able to care more for themselves. Fears are replaced with first place ribbons from Special Olympics and job promotions at Albertson's. "Impossible" becomes possible.
