Outcomes & Measures: (self-reported)

Outcome 1
Offer life affiring choices to those finding themselves in an unplanned pregnancy

Measure
number of client contacts, this lets us know if we are getting the word out in our coummunity

Outcome 2
Pregnancy tests

Measure
the number of prgnancy test as it relates to total client contacts, lets us see if we are reaching women (and men) that are making choices as it realtes to sexual purity.

Outcome 3
positive test compared to total tests

Measure
this allows us to determine if they are truly at risk for abortion and not just afraid thier "protection" or lack thereof has let them down.

Outcome 4
Initial intention

Measure
for pregnant clients, this lets s determine thier "risk" for abortion, they are asked this on their initial forms.

Outcome 5
Exit intentions

Measure
after counseling and possibly a referral for an ultrasound, thier exit intentions lets us know the effectiveness of our program. Have we helped her to chose life?

Change Process: (self-reported)

Clients come to us afraid and unsure of their options. Often their intention is to confirm their pregnancy and then set an appointment for an abortion. They are asked questions as to their situation and an evaluation is made as to their vulnerability to abortion. They are hen offered a pregnancy test, and their pregnancy is verified. If the test is positive, and their situation indicates that there is even the slightest chance of aborting, they are counseled as to their life affirming options. They are encouraged, empathized with and witnessed to (when appropriate) to let them know that their situation is neither unique nor hopeless. They are given information on pregnancy, abortion techniques and then given an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy. It is this peak into the womb that often (60% of the time) convinces them that “life” has already happened. Depending on the outcome here, they are then counseled on a healthy pregnancy, given referrals for proper medical care, given prenatal vitamins and then a final evaluation. If they decide to carry, they are then signed up for our Bridges program (a parenting, childbirth, child safety, and sexual integrity program) to guide them through their pregnancy. We also offer many resources and help in finding other programs.

We also typically have 3-4 follow-up visits with each client to check their progress, and to encourage a healthy pregnancy.
