Change Process: (self-reported)

There is a dearth of resources to support families who wish to provide a Christian education for their child with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy or learning delays. Public special education programs are often unable to meet the vast, intense needs of such a variety of special challenges. In addition, public education is hostile toward Christ-centered values. Not wanting their child’s learning years to be wasted “waiting” for good programs, thousands of families have turned to educating themselves, becoming experts on meeting the specialty needs of their child. Finding whatever is going to help their child succeed, NATHHAN families are the epitome of the involved parent! NATHHAN serves over 16,000 families dealing with special needs.

Putting shoe leather on their Christianity, the above NATHHAN families are reaching out, in response to being helped themselves. They are actively searching for birth parents that have an adverse prenatal diagnosis, sharing the hope that their baby is a blessing and already loved. Through one-on-one sharing, CHASK families are getting birth moms and dads to choose a family to raise their child if they cannot parent, instead of abortion.
