Outcomes & Measures: (self-reported)

Outcome 1
The program is to help men learn to be clean and sober during the program, and to practice abstinence after completing the program.

Measure
During the program we test the men for substance use. After completing the program, we use a questionnaire as a tool to measure their success. We ask them if they have used drugs or alcohol and do so on a monthly basis.

Outcome 2
The program is designed to establish church attendance as a part of the men's recovery and accountability after completing the program.

Measure
During the program, the men attend church on a weekly basis and must bring back a bulletin signed by a leader in the church. After completing the program, we use a questionnaire each month to measure church attendance by simply asking if they attended church weekly this month.

Outcome 3
The program is designed to help men develop a healthy work ethic and gain skills and knowledge needed to achieve gainful employment after leaving the program.

Measure
After leaving the program, the men answer a questionnaire each month that asks if they are working. They are also asked to produce a current payroll check stub.

Outcome 4
The program is designed to help men achieve sufficient housing.

Measure
After leaving the program, the men answer a monthly questionnaire that asks if he has sufficient housing.

Outcome 5
The program is designed to encourage men to participate in some form of a support group. An alumni group is formed for graduates of our program.

Measure
Attendance is taken at monthly alumni meetings, as well as men are asked monthly if they are attending any other support group.

Change Process: (self-reported)

Cognitive behavior therapy helps men to think differently about themselves and their behaviors. This helps men to change their thinking. We don't focus on behavior, we focus on beliefs. If the belief changes, so will the behavior.

Biblical training teaches men to learn to practice Christian principles in dealing with others. The focus is an emphasis on love which changes the heart.

Our substance abuse classes help men to reflect on how their lives affected others, improve self-esteem, and make a committee to change their behaviors.

Our learning center allows men to gain knowledge and skills to earn their GED or build on their education through developing computer skills necessary for today's marketplace.

These elements combined result in a spiritual transformation that changes the person from the inside out.
