Outcomes & Measures: (self-reported)

Outcome 1
Increased educational attainment

Measure
Participants will exhibit a decrease in high school drop out, increase in overall GPA, and an increase in % enrolled in high school and college, as compared to median enrollment/attainment data for designated comparison zip codes. Upon high school graduation, we anticipate that 75% of participants will be placed into college on a "TRUTH Seekers" scholarship through NCC's college assistance program, CAPS.

Outcome 2
Improved ability to avoid at-risk behaviors

Measure
80% of participants will exhibit respect for peers and authority figures, positive choices and avoidance of teen pregnancy, school drop-out, criminal activity, gang involvement and victimization by violent injuries.

Outcome 3
Improved Health

Measure
Through participation in TRUTH Seekers and required healthy activities, participants will exhibit a decrease in teen pregnancies, second pregnancies and obesity as compared to median rate for designated comparison zip codes.

Outcome 4
Increased Stability

Measure
Many of the youth in our program live in "unstable" environments. Participants will experience an overall increase in personal stability as measured by regular attendance in TRUTH Seekers and increased church attendance or other regular religious activities.

Change Process: (self-reported)

Through the use of pre and post-evaluations, NCC tracks the measurable differences made in participants' lives. Participants consistently both report and display development of strong work ethics through community volunteerism, particularly in Christian service to the poor; growth in their spiritual identity in Christ; knowledge of resources and strategies to avoid at-risk situations and behaviors; a commitment to physical health as a means to a "better" life and the development of personal goals, particularly regarding educational attainment and vocation.
