Outcomes & Measures:
(self-reported)
Scoring for this section is based on the organizations ability to provide at least three clear and specific outcomes with corresponding measures in which a relationship is shown between outcomes and measures.
Outcome 1: Reduction of anxiety about parenting a newborn.
Measure Used:
Discussion after video education materials. Homework and client reading
Outcome 2: Realization that parenting is a lifelong responsibility-and one that ideally includes a mother and a father
Measure Used:
Discussion. Client is able to answer questions about videos watched. Materials specific to both genders are used
Outcome 3: Developing a plan for sexual integrity
Measure Used:
Client makes changes in living arrangements or relationship partners. Chooses to remain celibate until marriage or chooses secondary virginity.
Outcome 4: Understanding the physical, emotional, spiritual effects of pregnancy
Measure Used:
Watches and participates in video education and instruction. Develops an increased level of confidence in her/his ability to cope with all aspects of pregnancy, childbirth and child rearing
Outcome 5: Realizes her or his purpose in life and develops hope
Measure Used:
Share the good news of God's plan of salvation. They learn about forgiveness and importance of faith. Acceptance of God's plan is totally optional and, while it would be a benefit to the client, it is not mandated as part of our program completion
Change Process:
(self-reported)
Scoring for this section is based on the organizations ability to provide clear, measurable, client-focused stages of change based on participant participation.
Most participants come to the program anxious, ashamed and uninformed about all that is entailed with becoming a parent. When clients participate in our program they are encouraged by caring, compassionate mentors who meet with them one on one and tailor their program to meet specific needs. Every session ends with a prayer for the client(s)and baby and we have seen tremendous change in the lives of our moms and dads. They relax, they develop confidence, they stabilize their relationships, they discontinue using or abusing harmful substances, they make commitments of faith and find churches, and they sometimes decide to return to school. Participants have come back years later and thanked us for the difference we have made in their family's life.
