Outcomes & Measures: (self-reported)
Outcome 1
Legal advocates
Measure
The staff writes letters and makes phone calls to parole officers, judges and lawyers on behalf of the men. Because of the reputation of the Mission, this allows the men to stay with us, through our rehabilitation program, and not go to prison.
Outcome 2
Spiritual Maturity
Measure
The men are required to attend classes three times a week, attend Bible study, attend one mandatory and two other church services, and meet with a staff member (voluntarily) as many times as they would like. Through this process the men may dedicate or rededicate their lives to Christ.
Outcome 3
Family intervention
Measure
We help the men search for family members. Through counseling we also help them reconnect and mend broken relationships.
Outcome 4
Job placement
Measure
We direct them to local employers, help with resumes, bring in-house community leaders and business men to teach them about job placement and how to maintain a job. More importantly we pray with the men over getting a job. This allows the men to work at a job, save money and become independent.
Outcome 5
Case management
Measure
We work with the men with everything from helping them with glasses, medical care and Social Security Insurance (SSI). SSI and SSD aids the men with financial independence which will enable them to eventually live on their own.
Change Process: (self-reported)
Our program is for men who sincerely want to resolve their problems from alcohol and/or drugs. It is a work-oriented program with each man working an eight-hour day. They also receive counseling and attend recovery sessions. Bible study, Chapel, social and recreational programs in the evening are available to help them return to a productive life. Our main goal is to enable each man to love themselves as Christ loves them.
